| What's Your Beer Personality? |
[Jun. 24th, 2006|08:43 am] |
| You Are Guinness | You know beer well, and you'll only drink the best beers in the world. Watered down beers disgust you, as do the people who drink them. When you drink, you tend to become a bit of a know it all - especially about subjects you don't know well. But your friends tolerate your drunken ways, because you introduce them to the best beers around. |

went for a long walk with lilli and blip this morning. erko ~ sydney park ~ alexandria ~ erko. walking is good to refresh your mind and shed away extra fattie thoughts which i dont need.
these 2 girls were so excited, and busy with walking, running, weeing, sniffing people/other dogs/weeds/others pee, etc... what a simple and natural way to live! though i dont need to sniff others pee unless it's a part of some sort of play.
re-reading this japanese book titled "self-confidence" that i have read once, probably 6 years ago. kinda thinking "RE" is the key in my life at the moment. nothings too late and we can re-do it, in a different way, if you want to try it again. no more complaint. no more regret. just re-do it! |

last week, i was looking for a pronunciation/speaking course in sydney and came across the one at unsw. i seriously considered to take the course and downloaded the detailed info. found out if you are entitled to dimia (department of immigration and multicultural and indigenous affairs) 510 hours of english language tuition, the course fee is free.
im entitled to it but have never used it yet, and thought it might have been expired last year or so. sent an email asking about my eligibility and alse expressing my strong interest in the course. they emailed me back the next day and told me that i was still able to use the benefit. i booked an interview and it was held today.
before the inverview, i needed to take a brief reading and writing test which were very busy. asked i just wanted to enroll on a pronunciation/clear speaking course but still need to take these tests, then she told me that it was just a thing i had to go through as a part of the process. wondered if i should give some wrong answers on purpose to get in the course, but i got the feeling that they would accept me anyway, so i didnt bother.
the interview wasnt like an assessment, but more like a final procudure and confirmation of which course i want to take. it's a 10-week course and next term starts on 17th july.
i'll be a part-time student again. yay, |

hoopaholic training.
watching gemma and bunny doing kick-up, thought if hoops were water, they could make such a beautiful and powerful waterspout. thats probably what i wanna make... nah, feel.
everyone was scared of those noices coming from the back stage, stairs, doors, walls... well, the power of bunny's red knickers with cute white high socks might have attracted *them* somehow.
after said bye to angie at newtown station, walked back home hand hooping all the way. the air was chilly, my hands were sore, all restaurants were closed. i needed warm saki.
luv the way bunny calls me bitch. |

[May. 29th, 2006|12:07 pm] |
all i can/have to do today is... to live my life fully.
there is a dramatic change in me last few days. im more positive about life, im not afraid of showing who i am to the world! there is no zero-zero fog anymore and i can see the fog burning off gradually.
i cant vacuum the thick fog around you, but will walk through it with you not to bog down alone.
luckily, we've got time, brains and a big heart to share, so dont worry.

| Abduction : The Megumi Yokota Story |
[May. 28th, 2006|09:37 am] |
Synopsis from the official 53rd Sydney Film Festival programme.
"This amazing story began as a routine missing persons case. A 13-year-old Japanese girl leaves school but never arrives home. Gradually it becomes clear that something very strange is happening on the streets of Japan.
Aliens? Shifts in the space-time continuum? No, arguably weirder still.
Megumi's distraught parents discover that North Korean agents have kidnapped their daughter and spirited her away to the world's last pure Red republic, apparently to help the North Koreans learn about the daily habits of the Japanese.
Executive produced by Jane Campion, this beautifully crafted doco starts as personal tragedy and assumes wider dimensions as the Yokota family meet others whose children have disappeared in equally bizarre circumstances."
and also, from the official site.
"JAPAN, 1977. A dark, lonely road leads to the windswept shores. This is the remarkable story of a 13-year-old Japanese girl abducted on her way home from school by North Korean spies. For 20 years, her parents had no idea what had happened to her or if she was even alive. Then, one day the whole world learned the shocking truth.
An extraordinary tale of mystery, intrigue and most of all, love. The film is told through the eyes of the girl's mother and father who have been searching for their daughter for nearly 30 years. The film begins with the day Megumi vanishes, traces the astonishing course this personal tragedy takes, as it becomes a battle between two nations, rising to a shocking climax.
A human story about a strange, painful journey, full of bizarre twists as an ordinary banker and his housewife are caught up in a life they could never have imagined. Ultimately, ABDUCTION is a moving, emotional testament to the unbreakable bonds of love."

| | jill scott - golden | ] | its been a long time since i talked to my mum on the phone. the last time we chatted, this family matter was annoying and making her suffer from such an emotional pain, so she was crying on the other side. i couldnt do anything because we lived far away, me in australia and her in japan. i knew whatever i said to encourage her to see the bright side of things, that wouldnt ease distressed mum. of course she knew it, but just couldnt handle the reality well especially another family member was struggling badly, actually much worth than anyone else, in front of her.
i was afraid of calling her because of lots of reasons, not only hers but also mine, however i have managed to find my life in australia finally, apart from my long and happy relationship with my boy which has been stable, and was sure "i" would be ok if she broke down over the phone. so i called her last night.
she sounded much much better and seemed to have got over it. no cry. she told me what had been happening, im in touch with my dad by email and knew most things tho, and chatted heaps, such as our dinner, some other receipes, her grandchildren, our jobs, my childhood, etc etc.
all she's got is her family which she and my dad have started making about 36 year ago. she doesnt have any other family or relatives. maybe she doesnt have many friends to catch up with for tea or whatever. i really feel for her. but she cares about me much more than i do her. i said to her "hey mum, you dont have to worry about me anymore, instead think about you and dad, go somewhere together, think about your happy life", then she laughed saying "i know, but u know, i cant help concerning about you whats happening to you in overseas, wondering if u eating well, have enough money to survive day by day(!), not doing anything illegal or giving others trouble..."
it made me laugh and feel warm. i promised myself to call her more often if it makes her feel easy. there are more things i wanna tell, especially my relationship with tim - gay, but lets see. anyway, i gotta go and get a calling card again. |

There's always a funny man in the game But he's only funny by mistake But ev'ryone laughs at him, just the same They don't see his lonely heart break They don't care as long as there is a jester, just a fool As foolish as he can be There's always a joker, that's a rule But fate deals the hand and I see The joker is me

| | pleasure is all mine - bjork | ] | the opening was a great success. everyone became a great part of this art event, in other words, without those visitors/audience/supporters the wild boys artists cant complete their art works. this is the reason why the wild boys can be distinguished by other art shows. usually when u go to any art show, u dont expect to be involved in them unless u take part in it as an artist, however, the wild boys got some natural fagulous magic to make u feel or realise that u r also essential to fill the place. someone could be an artist, someone could be an object, someone could be a performer, someone could be a model(yes, i have never seen soooo many hot guys/boys/girls/ladies at art show!)
i told about this show and opening to my friend who lives in tokyo. he said it reminded him of Rirkrit Tiravanija (http://www.the-artists.org/artist/Tiravanija_Rirkrit.cfm read his interview!) and Navin Rawanchaikul (http://www.the-artists.org/artist/Rawanchaikul_Navin.cfm). i agree with him. what do u think???
i cant wait for the closing!!! im thinking to dress up. my alterego... |

| | portishead - western eyes | ] | checked some japanese learners' ljs. i was stunned by those people who seemed to speak/write japanese fluently out there. im pretty much sure some of them study japanese as an academic subject and know strictly correct grammer and words usage better than me. how great is that? im ashamed of myself though.
i find, however, some kinda newish *living* japanese words are quite classless - i dont mean to offend anyone -, japanese learners would take them as usuful slangs or something like that through their friends. for example, this meaningless word "uzai." if someone (native japanese speaker, probably young) uses this word to refer to her/his frustration or disgusted feeling, u better ask the person why it annoys her/him and how it is "uzai." i dont think they can answer your question properly or express themselves in a mature way, but would just prove that they put some kind of lack of individuality in "uzai" - probably a trendy mass action -. well, i just dont like this word. i find this word soooo uncool. thats it. all my japanese friends, they are super cool, dont use this word at all.
wonder if there are any "uncool" english words which non-native speakers tend to be misled into thinking cool and proudly use. |

(sounds like teenager? well, then how about if i say SPLENDID! more sophisticated stupidity? - love that. thank you very much) such a huge blowing up which made u wet a little bit. i wondered if it was kinda tsunami effect. some young girl(italian looks) sitting on rocks was shouting "im getting wet! im getting wet!" tim was sorta giggling and seemed to have thought it funny too. from kiama to wollongong, the train was quiet and no one was talking but tim who got a call from richard and couldnt help laughing about his xmas story. the way back to bondi was filled with tori and bjork's beautiful music with some fravor of janet, peaches and brandy from ipoddy which i dj-ed.
just watched judge judy. when i stay at home, i never miss this show. the case is real, the people are real, the judge is final. this is her court room. this is judge judy. im addicted. she is so funny. go girl! |

sometimes i miss japan and my friends living there.
usually i dont cos im having a good life with my lil b in this beautiful country which still acknowledges gay & lesbian peoples human rights in terms of visa compared to what japan does. when i read some emails from my personal *correspondents* in tokyo, they are so special, saying whats happening over there, however, i cant resist my junkie feeling for those cool and crazy people. not only people, but art, design, architecture, music and nature.
i better make a plan to trip back to japan maybe next year. im quite sure my lil b would love to visit there and meet my friends who are very creative, interesting, intelligent, kind, dte, cute... as well. yup, we have to do that!!!
i wanna show him shimokitazawa(where i use to live), kichijyoji, kouenji, daikanyama, omotesando, harajuku, shibuya, shinjuku, asakusa, ueno, kanda, kamakura, odaiba(maybe not?), akihabara(well...), roppongi, yokohama, etc... at least 2 weeks, we need to look around.
cant wait!
why does ian thorpe give the tv cameras a sidelong glance, 45-degree angle, when speaking to them? |

ive been looking for a sewing machine on ebay. it would be nice to have one so i can make more original t-shirts, scarfs, curtains, or fix those glory holes on my jeans, i found some small ones and have been wondering if i should bet on one of them or not. actually there are some cool antique ones and a cute 70's japanese one on www.ebay.com.au but im not sure if they worth it. i mean, i have never used a sewing machine and have no idea how long my interest lasts...
i quite like the t-shirt which i made by sticking scrappy on last week. i must say its very cool. last nite i met trevor on the street on my way home and he thought it cool too! he is a gorgeous arty person and i truly believe his *sense*, so... i better go for it?
anyway, these virgin blue clues must target on japanese girls. i have never done this peace mark since i learned the meaning of the word "cool and damn." trust me.
